University of Vermont Medical Center Registered Nurse - School / Outpatient Setting in Elizabethtown, New York
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the management of patient care, utilizing the nursing process to access, plan, implement and evaluate patient/student outcomes in the outpatient setting and contracted services in the community .
EDUCATION/SKILLS REQUIRED
* Graduate of an accredited nursing education program and holds a current license as a Registered
Professional Nurse in NYS. BSN preferred.
* Greater than one year experience as a RN is required.
* Experience working in the school setting or outpatient setting recommended.
* Must have American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire and continuously thereafter
* Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills to interact with patients/students, families, staff and management.
* Must be highly motivated, able to work outside the normal working hours as volume demands.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision- must be able to work in fast paced environment and take appropriate action, have strong organizational skills.
* As applicable, the individual has training, competency in attending to the special needs and/or behavior appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being given.
Requires local travel
