Are you a dynamic and results-driven leader with a passion for sales? We invite you to join our team as a District Sales Manager. In this role, you will manage a team of 5-8 sales representatives and floating merchandisers, overseeing 150-300 accounts that generate $15-$30 million in revenue. You will be responsible for driving sales volume and revenue in your district, ensuring our brands are properly represented in retail accounts.

As a District Sales Manager, you will directly supervise and provide direction to your team, utilizing sales training, modules, and field ride-alongs to train and develop both new and experienced sales representatives. Your support will be crucial in resolving customer orders and ensuring timely performance assessments. Leading weekly team sales meetings, you will review territory performance and overall sales results, setting goals at both the territory and account levels to achieve case and revenue objectives.

You will present monthly programs and offer brand direction during General Sales Meetings, manage incentive program execution at the district level, and oversee the distributor suggested pricing plan for Gallo distributor brands. Your industry and market knowledge will help you build strong relationships with key independent business owners, manage key accounts, and conduct customer calls.

Your role will also involve onboarding new sales reps, covering open territories, and approving signage, displays, and merchandising in your district. You will establish account programs, develop management candidates, and provide relevant market information to upper management. Additionally, you will participate in recruiting candidates and ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety regulations.

What You Will Need:

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate plus 5 years of professional sales experience to include at least one year of Gallo wholesaler or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor experience that includes a holiday season reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of professional sales experience with a Gallo wholesaler or affiliated or non-affiliated distributor that includes a holiday season reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

  • 21 years of age or older.

  • Candidate is required to have a valid driver’s license, a safe driving record and reliable vehicle (if applicable) at the time of hire. This position will undergo a motor vehicle check (MVR) to confirm a history of safe and responsible driving. If needed, candidate must obtain the appropriate state driver’s license based on the position’s location within 30 days of hire.

  • Required to lift or move 45 – 57 pound cases of product.

  • Required to work weekends for special functions/events when needed.

  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

    What Will Set You Apart:

  • Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of wine sales experience to include at least one year of affiliated distributor experience that includes a holiday season; OR Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of retail and on-premise district manager experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.

  • Knowledgeable in Gallo sales/merchandising standards, policies, and selling skills.

  • Demonstrated Leadership aptitude and skill.

  • Completion of Fine Wine Training I certification

  • CSS and/or CSW certifications

  • Good communication skills; sticks to point.

  • Good problem-solving skills.

  • Good time management skills.

  • Good organization skills.

  • Demonstrated teamwork experience.

Compensation:

  • Hiring Salary Range Posted: $73,700.00 / $110,500.00 / Annually

  • Actual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
