The Machinist should be experienced in the operation of all site and mobile machinery, ensuring work of the highest quality and accuracy.

Machinists will work under the supervision of the Machinist Supervisor. After successful completion of the on-the job training, they will be required to work independently.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

Role Summary/Purpose

The Machinist is responsible for onsite technical support (OSM)installation and preventive / corrective maintenance in customers equipment. Drives customer satisfaction through service excellence, with the unyielding integrity and compliance with GE EHS standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Work on repair jobs at customer sites and act as the representative of On-Site Services in front of the customer (internal and external) to ensure safe and timely completion of work with required quality standards and to the satisfaction of the customer.

  • Deliver on expectations regarding EHS (Environmental, Health and Safety), Quality, On-Time Delivery, Productivity and Cost.

  • Complete all pre-job planning and post job reporting including machine and tooling preparation, ordering parts and supplies and preparation and review of EHS Safety Plan / Quality Plan

  • Provide OSS (On site services) progress reports to internal customer team and OSS Service Manager

  • Ensure proper documentation as specified on ITPl's Inspection and Test Plans, Work instructions FSI's.

  • Ensure proper usage of specialized equipment including calibration and right material.

  • Carry out all pre-work requirements including POWRA ( (Point of Work Risk Assessment), attending Toolbox, understand RAMS in line with the scope of work to be carried out.

  • Operate all machinery and tooling correctly and in compliant way.

  • Ensure the Machining Supervisor is kept up to date on progress, productivity, and concerns.

  • Approximately 70% of working time spent on customer sites, which requires frequent travels

Qualifications / Experience

  • Diploma in Technical or Machining, relevant experience in a machining role as a fresh graduate

  • Experience with developing work instructions

  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications in standard and metric dimensions.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

  • Verbal and written communication skills in English and German

  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Driving license
