TECOLOTE RESEARCH, INC. Service Desk Administrator in El Segundo, California

Overview We are seeking a Support Desk professional with hands-on experience working in a PC LAN/WAN environment supporting Space Force users with complex problems.

Responsibilities

  • This position is fast paced and requires excellent organizational, problem solving, communication and follow through skills.
  • Service Desk Professionals will be responsible for (not limited to) taking phone calls, answering customer inquiries, diagnosing technical issues, running tests, troubleshooting software and equipment, installing and updating software and hardware.
  • The help desk professional is a crucial member of the DevOps Group that manages Space Force technology infrastructure and user support systems, responsible for providing quality support to the end-user, remote workforce and systems teams.
  • This individual will foster and maintain user satisfaction via quality service and support, minimize problem resolution time and callbacks, implement end-user requests and participate in IT tactical plan implementation.

Skills Required

  • Strong communication/organizational skills, systematic/logical problem-solving skills, and demonstrated computer skills
  • Prior experience working with complex software applications to document business rules, create user guides and manuals, creation of test plans, execution of testing plans and procedures, and documenting bugs and errors
  • Knowledge of Agile/Scrum software development process
  • Best practices and IT operations for dynamic, always-up, always-available services
  • Bachelors preferred; Additional degrees or certifications may substitute for years of experience
  • ITIL Foundation, CompTIA A+ credentials preferred
  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance

Other Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated systems perspective when analyzing problems, thinking about the overall operation, failure modes and how to address these problems proactively
  • A strong sense for the importance of documentation, and the importance of learning skills the first time
  • Experience with DoD, specific to DoD Software Factory
  • Ability to work in an agile product team environment and balance a diverse set of stakeholder requests
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to break down complex technical systems to help business partners understand the value
  • Strong technical collaboration and communication skills as well as the ability to drive cultural change and adoption of best practices through community participation
  • Ability to collaborate with other teams across the company, defining technology roadmaps, sharing experiences and lessons learned for continual improvement
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Process-oriented with great documentation skills

Education

  • Bachelors degree preferred, preferably in management information systems, math or engineering. Additional degrees or certifications may substitute for years of experience.
