Position Summary and Responsibilities

Teledyne Controls is seeking seasoned Production Planner, Responsible for releasing, prioritizing and managing work orders and developing finite schedules for key work centers.

Key Functions

  • Releases work orders and Purchasing Requisitions in accordance with the Master Schedule and MRP to support the necessary supply to support customer demand

  • Works closely with manufacturing to prioritize and expedite production requirements based on material availability, resources, machine capacities and changing demand signals

  • Develops finite schedules at the work level to control production output that supports upstream operations

  • Supports and implements the policies, procedures, systems and programs required to meet department and plant objectives

  • Supports cross-functional teams related to Manufacturing, Planning, Quality Controls, Purchasing, Shipping and Receiving and Customer Service Departments

  • Perform root cause analysis and develops appropriate countermeasures for key metric misses including On-time Delivery, Aged WIP, Schedule Conformance and Excess Inventory

  • Work collaboratively with sales, marketing and manufacturing personnel to continuously balance supply and demand

  • Participates in the new product development process and manages the supply chain planning process for new product launches

  • Monitors, analyzes and maintains key planning parameters including lead times and safety stocks

  • Profiles inventory including the identification of excess and obsolete inventory and aged WIP and creates action plan to address problem areas

  • Coordinate production requirements of assigned subcontractor(s) and manages the transfer of materials/product to/from subcontractor(s)

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school

  • At least a minimum of seven (7) years’ of experience in the management of material and production planning personnel

  • Extensive background experience with MRP/ERP business systems

  • Intermediate to advance knowledge on Microsoft Office applications tools: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Project; emphasizing on advance knowledge of Excel; Familiarity with Windows environments is essential

  • Must have the ability to adjust to changing priorities, multiple demands and crises

  • Must have strong analytical and logical skills and demonstrate strength in attention to detail

  • Must have the ability to complete complex tasks on time with minimal supervision/guidance

Preferred

  • APICS Certification highly desirable

  • Planning in an electronic assembly/production environment strongly preferred
