Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector has an opening for a Maintenance Carpenter 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position is located on site in El Segundo, CA .

Essential Functions:

The Maintenance Carpenter 2 will a range of skilled carpentry, painting and general maintenance tasks including but not limited to:

  • Drywall, paint, door hardware and window repair or replacement.

  • Outdoor and indoor line stripping with and without machine aid.

  • Concreate and asphalt repair.

  • Hard lid and T-Bar ceiling repairs, roof maintenance and leak mitigation.

  • Install and repair various types of office furniture and fixtures (tables, chairs, cabinets, counters, shelves, benches, cubical partitions).

  • Installs signs and banners, performs various restroom repairs including tile, soap dispensers, and towel dispensers, caulking and partition repair or replacement.

  • Operates various hand and power tools such as electrical saws, drills, and sanders.

  • Makes shop estimations relating to dimensions of work and selects necessary materials.

  • Ability to capture work performed and order material for work, on CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System),

  • Maintain inventory of material and tools needed to perform work, understanding of OSHA, local and state regulations and performing job duties in a safe and professional manner.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions, near moving mechanical parts, is frequently exposed to wet or humid condition and may be required to work flexible or overtime hours including weekends.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, some of which requires delicate and precision movements, is frequently required to stand, talk, hear, and lift or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.

Basic Qualifications for Maintenance Carpenter 2:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 years of carpentry, painting, concrete work, or building maintenance experience.

  • Ability to lift 50lbs and stand for a period of time.

  • Ability to work from heights such as on ladders and aerial work platforms.

  • Ability obtain and maintain DOD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications for Maintenance Carpenter 2:

  • Proficiency with Maximo CMMS system or similar work order system

Salary Range: $53,000 - $88,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
