Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Director, Pricing and Cost Estimating 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse professionals.

We are seeking a highly qualified, strong leader to influence and enable the strategic direction of the Air Dominance, Apex, and Research & Advanced Design Divisions as the Director of Pricing and Cost Estimating located in El Segundo, CA or Melbourne, FL. This position will have accountability for the Air Dominance, Apex, and Research & Advanced Design Pricing organization that ensures the execution of high quality, timely and compliant proposals in support of the financial objectives of the Air Dominance, Apex, and Research & Advanced Design Divisions. The Director of Pricing and Cost Estimating is responsible for managing a team of managers and professionals who support all program pricing requirements for the Divisions across multiple NGAS sites, including Clearfield, UT, Dayton, OH, El Segundo, CA, Iuka, MS, Melbourne, FL. and St. Augustine, FL.

In addition to managing employee staffing, training and development, this individual is responsible for all Air Dominance, Apex, and Research & Advanced Design Division pricing activities in accordance with applicable regulations, policies, and best practices to achieve operational excellence, financial performance and customer satisfaction. This individual will support Sector and Corporate Pricing Councils and provide resources and input to assist with identification and completion of key strategic initiatives. This individual will also be responsible for cultivating internal and external customer relationships and supporting Government/Industry forums and councils.

Candidate will have the following:

  • Exceptional people leadership;

  • Demonstrated success in managing large, complex programs and/or organizations to enable understanding of linkages among strategy, estimating, contractual obligations and financial performance (e.g. applying rates & factors, developing cost models, application of S-curves, PCARS, material estimating);

  • Ideal individual will have broad experience in pricing/estimating processes & techniques throughout the acquisition life cycle (price strategy thru negotiations) or execution of large programs through several contract phases;

  • Understanding of Truthful Cost or Pricing Data Requirements and other regulatory, customer, and internal policies, rules, and requirements;

  • Understanding of the Material Estimating & Analysis and Production Operations Estimating practices and strategies;

  • Experience developing, evaluating, and executing Pricing strategies for proposals;

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of government acquisition processes;

  • Strong project planning insight and solid project control fundamentals;

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years' experience within business management including detailed knowledge of pricing and estimating, as well as knowledge of contracts and program business management in the government market with a Bachelors degree or 8 years with a Masters;

  • Minimum 5 years management experience;

  • Must have a thorough understanding of pricing and estimating methodologies, quality and compliance requirements relating to cost volumes and Estimating System requirements including overhead rate application;

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters in business related field;

  • Active Secret or TS Security clearance.

Salary Range: $164,600 - $286,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
