MAKIOS GROUP LLC Systems Administrator for MSP in EL PASO, Texas

Qualifications
  • We are looking for a go-getter; someone detail-oriented that loves to work hard and play hard, and cares about helping people and solving problems
  • Associates or Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience as a Systems Administrator required
  • Extensive knowledge on how TCP/IP works
  • Knowledge on working with security appliances preferably WatchGuard

  • Associates or bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols

Responsibilities

The technician assists clients and the internal support team to resolve day-to-day issues that come up on servers and networking equipment such as Windows Servers, Exchange servers, Office 365, and other equipment like firewalls, wireless Access Points, Routers switches

Testing hardware

Recycling and storing older hardware

Wipe old computers

Ability to install Windows operating system (Windows 10)

Installation of drivers/peripherals/components

Working with email clients (Outlook)

Connect and verify network communication for workstations

Installation of Windows Applications

Updating Software programs

Setting up email clients for Exchange or Office 365

Configuring computers to access wireless networks

Setting up printers

Ability to join a computer to a Windows domain

Troubleshooting Software

Working with computers joined to a Windows Domain

NOC and Patch Management

Troubleshooting email issues on the client-side

Creating users in Active Directory

Creating mailboxes in Exchange and Office 365

Configure / Manage Windows File Servers

Troubleshooting Windows Services

Setup NIC Teams based on vendor software/drivers

Setting up DNS zones in Windows DNS

Configuring Windows Firewall Policies

Remote Desktop Services

Manage and provide access for RDS users

Configure Session Collections

Create and Provision Published Applications

Install / Manage RDS Licensing Servers

Microsoft Exchange Server (2010 and later)

Create User Mailboxes

Create and provision Shared Mailboxes

Create Distribution Groups

Configure OWA Access

Configure Split DNS in the domain for routable domains
