Forklift Technician must service, repair, inspection, and maintenance on various types of forklift trucks including electric, gas-powered, diesel, and propane. Duties includes working on diesel engines, transmissions, drives axles, differentials, hydraulic systems, brake systems, steering systems, electrical systems, lifting systems, etc. Ensures batteries for electric forklift trucks are fully charged. Must be self-motivated, have the ability to work independently. Must have own tools. Must be able to drive forklift and have clean Motor Vehicle Record. Must be able to load and unload equipment from trucks is essential. Daily use of good judgment to comply with instructions or prescribed routines, methods, or practices involving the making of minor decisions. Per company safety, properly block, chock and chain equipment, and disassemble equipment as needed. Perform basic welding as necessary. Tests forklift trucks to ensure repairs are completed correctly. Record maintenance and repair work performed by completing necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
