Major/Essential Functions:

  • Provides comprehensive care and diagnosis in Pediatric Rheumatology to newborns, children and adolescents

  • Supervises medical students, residents and advanced practice professional in the clinical setting

  • Participates in the education of medical students and residents

  • Conducts research and scholarly activities within the Department of Pediatrics

  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations

  • Demonstrate Professionalism in accordance with the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine's Declaration of Faculty Professional Responsibility

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board certified in general pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics

  • Board Certified in pediatric rheumatology by the American Board of Pediatrics

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish Preferred)

  • Experience in teaching students and residents in Pediatric Rheumatology

  • Emerging or established regional or national reputation for the rank of associate professor or higher

Required Qualifications:

  • M.D/D.O. degree or foreign medical equivalent degree

  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Pediatrics Residency Program

  • Successful completion of an ACGME accredited Pediatric Rheumatology Fellowship Program

  • Full, unrestricted Texas medical license or eligible to obtain a Texas State Medical License
