Job Title: Direct Support Professional (DSP)

Location: El Dorado Springs, Missouri

Employment Type: Part-time

Job Summary:

Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual looking to make a difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities? Join our team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and provide individualized supported living services, including support, training, and oversight in the client's home and community.

As a DSP, you may also be responsible for providing personal assistance, independent skill development, and community integration services as defined by the Department of Mental Health. Our ideal candidate has experience working with the IDD population, strong communication skills, and a commitment to person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to and work with assigned clients according to the support schedule

  • Read and understand the client's Individual Support Plan and addendums

  • Provide support and training as specified in the personal plan

  • Document progress on goals and objectives in the Individual Support Plan

  • Complete detailed residential daily notes and obtain receipts for client purchases

  • Implement emergency and safety drills as specified in the Individual Safety Plan

  • Complete General Event Reports and Event Reports in a timely manner

  • Maintain current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration

  • Attend meetings and specialized trainings as directed

  • Complete competency-based Community Services orientation training

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED

  • One year of experience in the IDD field or successful completion of Missouri Quality Outcomes training

Required License/Certification (one of the following):

  • Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and Medication Administration (if applicable)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to interact and work effectively with people

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Punctual with excellent attendance

  • Proficient computer skills

  • Knowledge of the IDD service provision field

  • Reliable means of communication

  • Ability to read, understand, and write clearly
