Summary This National Guard position is for a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER, Position Description Number D0204000 and is part of the NJ 177th MAI SQ, National Guard. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Responsibilities As a ORDNANCE EQUIPMENT MECHANIC LEADER, WL-6641-10, you will: Maintain and repair assigned missiles. Prepare for and participates in inspections. Use special tools, portable powered sanders and sand blaster. Coordinate with various base activities concerning missile security, handling, and utilization. Perform safety and electrical continuity inspections on electrically actuated explosives and propellants. Requirements Conditions of Employment Additional Employment Requirements: -Participation in direct deposit is mandatory -May be required to successfully complete a probationary period -Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation -Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Military Grade: Min: MSGT/E7 and Max: SMSGT/E8 Applicant(s) (Enlisted) who are over grade must clearly state, in their resumes, their intentions to willingly take a reduction in grade Title 32 Dual-Status Positions: Compatible Military Assignments Appointments may require the selected candidate to be assigned to a military unit compatible with the full-time Military Technician (Dual Status) position. Military Unit -- The unit by which the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee; or a unit that the individual is employed as a Military Technician (Dual Status) employee to support. (Guidance established by NJ HRO-J1) Qualifications GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience or training which has provided knowledge and application of mechanical and electrical principles and the skill to perform intricate repair and adjustment of hydraulic and pneumatic components and devices. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 18 months experience in the following: Using precision measurement equipment. Repairing, rebuilding, modifying and testing a variety of major subassemblies. Diagnosing malfunctions and determining repair in major components consisting of numerous assemblies, interrelated electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic assemblies, and components. Education There are no education requirements for this vacancy announcement Additional Information Security Clearance Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance within 1(One) Year of appointment.
