U.S. Air Force - Agency Wide Supervisory Operations Specialist-DIRECT HIRE AUTHORITY in Edwards AFB, California

In this position you will provide first-level supervisory authorities to FSS Operations Support Section (readiness, plans, mortuary, security, and training) as assigned by the Operations Officer. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Provides management oversight for information systems, personnel security, industrial security, and physical security program policies in support of USAF, DoD, and National level Special Access Programs (SAPs) Develops, implements, monitors, and documents a comprehensive training program to ensure all staff members possess the necessary skills and knowledge for their position. Prepares APF budget, which includes the expenditures required to conduct the assigned programs. Ensures sufficient equipment and supplies are available to provide comprehensive programming. Serves as a Mortuary Affairs Technician. Leads, trains, and coordinates a Search and Recovery team. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions located here SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-02 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 in the Federal Service. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of mortuary business and trade practices, and/or knowledge of a wide range of security disciplines and functions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the operations, products, services, needs, and goals of the program(s) and the organizations studied or served, and related customers, functions, resources, and users. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative techniques used to identify, consider, and resolve issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of program operations to devise organizational structuring options for complex, diverse organizations. Skill in gathering, assembling, and analyzing facts; drawing conclusions; devising solutions to problems; identifying changes and trends; and preparing and presenting briefings and reports. Skill to carry out and complete assignments involving work with diverse and dynamic groups by gaining their cooperation with tact, courtesy, and diplomacy and moving them towards an ownership of their objective without imposing personal bias. Knowledge of a wide range of security disciplines and functions, security systems, concepts, principles and practices that include; Information Protection, Information Security, Industrial Security, Physical Security, Personnel Security, Operations Security(OPSEC), Foreign National Visitors, Program Protection Planning and Critical Program Information, Public Release, Communications Security (COMSEC), Emissions Security, Counter-intelligence and Special Access Program (SAP) security requirements. Knowledge of mortuary business and trade practices, characteristics, and methods of administering, delivering, and evaluating operations. Knowledge of training techniques, characteristics, and methods of administering, delivering, and evaluating operations. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy.
