What you can expect to do here:

  • You'll aid in mentoring and coaching of junior staff;

  • You'll aid with leading a team of resources including technical systems designers;

  • You will aid in business development and preparation of proposals, brief’s, reports, and project specifications;

  • You'll conduct workshops and presentations both throughout the course projects and in an effort to secure new business.

  • You will work on projects of varying types including Master Planning, Functional Programing, Design Bid-Build, Design Build, IPD and Alternative Finance Projects.

  • You'll carry out: Systems Studies, Concept Design Narratives, Schematic Design, Detailed Design, Construction Documents, Tender Review, Project Management, Information Technology Infrastructure and Building Technologies systems design specifically in the following:

  • IT Cabling Infrastructure, Network and IMIT Systems

  • Security Systems

  • Audio Visual Systems

  • SMART Buildings

  • You'll coordinate with Project Managers, Engineers & local Canadian Designers and other personnel to incorporate concepts and information into drawing packages.

  • You'll contribute to maintaining WSP quality assurance approaches and methodologies.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • 10+ years experience in a Building Technologies consultancy

  • Familiarity with Smart buildings, IT infrastructure, Security, AV and or other building systems would be considered an asset.

  • Must have experience in business development including writing proposals and bids

  • Good writing skills including report writing and specification writing

  • Ability to create and interpret technical documents including reports, diagrams, drawings and specifications.

  • Ability to obtain a Public Works and Government Services Canada Level 2 security clearance and work in a secured environment.

  • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in the use of the MS Office Suite.

  • Must be willing to travel periodically and as required for project assignments

  • Must hold valid driver’s license and have a vehicle for travel to client sites

  • ASIS Credential CPP or PSP is preferred but not required

  • BISCI Credential RCDD is preferred but not required

  • P.Eng is preferred but not required
