The Quality Assurance Supervisor leads a team of quality assurance professionals, conducts audits, analyzes data, provides recommendations for improvements and is responsible for maintaining quality certifications. They collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, develop corrective actions, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, they may provide training and support to employees on quality-related matters.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Act as Lead Auditor for internal quality audits

  • Organize and conduct internal quality audits

  • Conduct vendor audits

  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of Powell’s Quality System and the execution of continuous improvement initiatives that support the system.

  • Lead special projects, as required following Lean and Six Sigma principals

  • Conduct and Participate in Root Cause Analysis, as required.

  • Facilitate the CIP (Continuous Improvement Program) initiatives.

  • Work with the Continuous Improvement team, employees and department stakeholders to implement CIP suggestions.

  • Teach classes for QA programs

    Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 Years in an industrial or manufacturing environment

  • Experience leading a team and Independent Projects

  • Background in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma Training required.

  • Associate or Bachelor degree in an engineering or business discipline or equivalent experience

    Skills, Abilities & Other Requirements

  • Technical writing skills.

  • Proven experience in implementing or maintaining a comprehensive quality assurance program, preferably one that was certified to ISO 9001.

  • Ability to establish priorities and balance multiple objectives

  • Natural continuous improvement mindset

  • Ability to engage with stakeholders on complex improvements and communicate the value

  • effectively.

  • Effective problem solving, decision making and communication skills

  • Ability to take on responsibility and challenges

  • Strong team player with leadership skills.

  • Basic computer skills using Oracle, Word, Excel, Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions

  • Safety sensitive position in a temperature controlled manufacturing or industrial environment with occasional outside activities.

  • Required to wear personnel protective equipment at all times (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, safety harnesses and respirators) when required.

  • Must be able to work from all type of ladders (step ladders, "A" frame ladders and all size extension ladders).

Physical Requirements

  • Able to maintain body equilibrium and agility to prevent falling when walking, standing, crouching, ascending or descending stairs.

  • Bending the body at the waist, the legs at the knees, and extending arms and hands in any direction in a repetitive manner continuously.

  • Continuous standing, walking 50-300 foot distances for long periods of time with only occasional sitting.

  • Able to frequently look over shoulders, work with both arms above shoulders and use both arms at full length frequently.

  • Using upper extremities to apply or exert a force continuously up to 50lbs.

  • Ability to use hand tools, such as: tin snips, hammer, and power tools (some vibrating), for long periods of time with frequent repetition.
