Job Title: Manual Machinist - Afternoon shift
Monday to Thursday - 4 X 10 hour days
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Manual Machinist who will be responsible for the set-up and operations of manual machine tools under limited supervision. The ideal candidate will engage in manual machining within tight tolerances to meet engineering, customer, or contract specifications. This includes interpreting blueprints, charts, tables, handbook formulas, sketches, and both written and verbal orders. You will be tasked with selecting tools, mounting, leveling, aligning, holding, and fastening work. Each job must be completed efficiently within the designated timeframe, with a focus on increasing efficiency and developing more effective methods.
Hard Skills
Manual Lathe, Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL) and Horizontal Boring Mill experience
Manual Machining experience achieving 0.001" tolerances
Working knowledge of tool geometry and applications
Working knowledge of effects of feeds and speeds on alloy materials
Ability to work overtime as required
Soft Skills
Ability to quickly adapt to changes and maintain organization in a dynamic environment
Work Site
This is a fully on-site position in Edmonton, Alberta.
Work Environment
The facility is a large, extremely clean, and well-organized industrial environment. Average noise levels range from 65 - 85 decibels, which is relatively quiet for such settings.
4X10 hour days
Monday to Thursday 3:00 PM to 1:30 AM.
Overtime is paid at 1.5x after 8 hours daily and on Saturdays, and 2x on Sundays.
