Maintenance Technician II

Primary Role Focus

This role is responsible for ensuring daily maintenance tasks are done correctly and in a safe and timely manner. This includes installing, repairing, rebuilding, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of automated production machinery and associated equipment. This role reports to the Programming and Controls Manager.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• Prioritize and delegate day-to-day tasks to team members, including cleanliness & organization of shop area

• Ensure policies and procedures are followed and practiced effectively

• Provide feedback to supervisor on team member performance

• Mentor and train new team members

• Track & ensure work orders are completed on time, properly documented and closed in the CMMS application

• Maintain spare parts & consumables inventory in the CMMS, communicate when replenishment required, procuring as directed

• Maintain and repair tools and equipment

• Ensure compliance with Packers Plus Health & Safety program

Position Requirements

Experience and Skills

• 1+ years’ experience in a leadership role is preferred

• 5+ years’ experience maintaining various kinds of production equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical systems

• Experience with Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) is an asset

• Experience with computer-controlled equipment

• Effective oral and written communication

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)

• Experience with robotics is an asset

• Oil & gas and/or Manufacturing environment experience is an asset

• Knowledge of down-hole completions tools is an asset

Education and Training

• Millwright – Journeyman or 4th year Apprentice preferred

• 3rd year apprentice with 5+ years of experience would be considered

• Recognized Fall Protection Certificate an asset

• Recognized Elevated Work Platform Certificate an asset

• Recognized Forklift Operator Certificate an asset

• Recognized Crane Operators and Safety Training an asset

• High School Diploma is an asset

Physical, Business and Safety Requirements

• Shift work – including weekends and on-call

• Extended periods of walking, standing, bending, working with tools/equipment in cramped conditions

• Lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.

• Position is ‘safety sensitive’ and subject to pre-employment physical assessment and drug & alcohol testing

• Subject to post-incident and reasonable cause drug & alcohol testing
