Eaton Corporation Customer Order Specialist in Edmonton, Alberta
Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking a Customer Order Specialist. This position will be based at our Edmonton Power Center in Edmonton, AB!
What you’ll do:
Eaton is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Customer Order Specialist to be primarily responsible for providing electrical and mechanical design and documentation support for power distribution or control product lines. This includes, but is not limited to engineering designs, collaborating with application engineers and manufacturing associates, utilization of design automation software, and producing/maintaining manufacturing documentation. In addition, they will:
Consult with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications.
Develop a variety of complex drawings and bills-of-material based upon established product designs, which provides sufficient detail to accurately convey the purchaser’s equipment application.
Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.
Advise Drafting/Design, Manufacturing, and Purchasing – when required – in interpreting information for the accurate production of equipment in accordance with the purchaser’s requirements.
Manage Manufacturing and Engineering Change Notices.
Demonstrate advanced computer skills with ability to learn required software (Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Design Automation and Oracle).
Consult with Quality in resolving issues after the equipment is shipped, when required.
Conduct special development/application projects of a complex nature.
Inform cost and cycle time improvement activities.
Conduct technical training guidance and seminars, as required.
Analyze needs and recommend revisions to Department Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications:
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution OR Certified Engineering Technologist (CET)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the application of MV control and switchgear assembly products
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future.
No relocation is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within an 80-km radius of the specified job location(s) will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior engineering experience within the electrical industry
Experience with Lean management and continuous improvement techniques
Project Management experience
P. Eng
Skills:
Ability to communicate technical information to customers and manufacturing
Knowledge of design standards
Knowledge of CSA standard and CEC code
Self-motivated, energetic and capable of working in a very fast-paced environment as part of a team and taking direction
Competency in using MS-Office and AutoCAD
Strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written. French is an asset
