Position summary T-Mobile is America's supercharged Un-carrier, delivering an advanced 4G LTE and transformative nationwide 5G network that will offer reliable connectivity for all. Sr. Engineers, Radio Frequency, located in Edina, MN will provide radio frequency (RF) and/or wireless transmission design and network optimization; Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: design, plan and oversee installation and maintenance of wireless radio communications systems, including radio propagation modeling and prediction, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, parameter definition, and ancillary equipment; use skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways; work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors; demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions; interact with senior internal and external personnel; design, plan, and oversee installation, maintenance, and optimization of LTE wireless radio communications systems; use analytical methods and tools to troubleshoot and optimize network perform to meet KPI targets; and interact with the transport teams to ensure designs meet budgetary and performance requirements. Develop processes and strategic approaches to problem solving, devise inter- and intra-team processes for system performance, and serve as technical subject matter expert to improve network performance. Review performance trends using Nokia Performance reporting tools, signaling and call flows, propose parameter changes, understanding alarming, working with cross functional teams, including technicians to triage an issue, assess impact of using different models of RF equipment, including Antennas, Radios, to process large engineering data, identify trends, and execute desired engineering strategy for performance improvement. Define and develop internal processes used for radio network design, capacity planning, Network Performance and Network growth strategies. Specific Skills Requirement - must have educational or professional experience in: Experience (1) Utilize RF propagation principles, microwave path analysis, interference analysis, frequency coordination, cell site equipment layout, and Radio Frequency engineering to operate planning tools including Nokia OSS/NetAct, TEMS, True Call, Actix/XCAP/Windcatcher, Asset/ATOLL/Planet and MapInfo, including creating and modifying new or existing RFDS. Experience (2) Design and optimize wireless networks across multiple technology platforms including 5G, VoLTE, LTE (FDD-TDD), WCDMA, CDMA, as well as Nokia OEM product line and use of Nokia OSS/NetAct. Experience (3) Engage in monitoring, review and troubleshooting of radio network key performance indicators (KPI) for multiple OEM vendor platforms including Nokia, Samsung, and Air span. Create engineering strategies for network improvement and develop testing and validation plans for Nokia advanced RF features. Experience (4) Engage in layer 3 data analysis to drill down network issues using various RF tools including true call, TEMS and XCAP/windcatcher to improve network quality. Experience (5) Use analytical methods and tools to analyze call records and real-time location specific network metrics and troubleshoot specific customer issues using geolocation-based tools including True call and NetScout nGenius Business Analytics (NBA). Experience (6) Support large capacity events where large crowds increase the need to optimize and monitor and take necessary actions from coverage and capacity perspective using Nokia performance features and parameters to improve customer experience. Experience and education requirements: PRIMARY REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related, and 3 years of relevant work experience. ALTERNATIVE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related, and 5 years of relevant work experience.
