Please visit . Department Overview The Accounting Department produces monthly financial statements and variance analysis. Major activities include: maintaining financial statements with generally accepted accounting principles, monthly posting of operations performance, reconciling general ledger accounts, fixed asset reporting and capital spending tracking, managing the annual financial audit, completing external requests for information, and reporting structure and system maintenance. Position Summary The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for reviewing, coding, and processing a high volume of invoices and payment requests timely and with a high rate of accuracy. This position is also responsible for setting up and maintaining new and existing vendors for W9/1099 reporting, and for assisting Children's staff and outside vendors with inquiries regarding accounts payable activity. Qualifications License/Certification/Registration required? N/A Education: *2 year Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience in Accounts Payable. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities *2 years of high-volume Accounts Payable processing experience. *Solid base understanding of accounting principles, PeopleSoft system, accounts payable processes, and windows environment. *In depth knowledge of the process/testing of PeopleSoft system upgrades is preferred. *Ability to professionally communicate both written and orally, with all levels of staff, externally and internally. *Ability to work with Sr. AP Specialists in order to solve problems and implement identified process improvements.
