Primary Responsibilities *Support team member development by reviewing and analyzing complex issues, communicating feedback to team members, sharing knowledge and resolving questions *Align individual performance with department expectations by securing information, following established tracking guidelines and procedures, adhering to established schedules, setting work-related goals and communicating with senior leadership *Coach and mentor team members by providing technical guidance and leadership to drive productivity standards and support achievement of business goals *Review of employer plan documents and amendments for alignment with Policy language; lead collaboration efforts to determine rate or policy term impact and evaluate risk to business operations and loss ratio *Draft policy limitations language on complex cases based on interpretation of plan documents and work directly with producers to explain revised terms; gather approval and ensure appropriate and timely delivery of final policy and underwriting requirements * Ensure timely and accurate entry of monthly A&H enrollment and premium received into the A&H system of record *Oversee A&H collection practices ensuring timely and appropriate communication with underwriting business development team members *Ensure producer commissions, supplemental agreements and contract fees are released in accordance with broker and administrative agreements as drafted by Legal *Collaborate with Underwriters and Senior Managers to ensure the collection of required information to issue final terms and policy language; validate document terminology fits contractual needs, protects QBE against risk and requests any additional documentation *Develop working relationships with external production partners to ensure high level communication on policy issuance requirements *Formulate, affect, interpret and implement policy procedures, guidelines, DTPs, strategic imperatives and product updates; draft procedural and endorsement language to be approved / signed off on by Underwriting and Product Compliance as necessary *Consult and advise management of trends in employer plan language and data quality of required reporting and final underwriting requirements; monitor policies and ensure changes in rates, terms, medical management and claims are handled with minimal risk to the organization *Compare and evaluate renewal underwriting requirements against expiring policy terms *Pursue and maintain qualifications and continued education in the areas of related state and federal regulations *Develop strong underwriting knowledge and assist with final underwriting requirements *Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and influencing others to reward performance and value "can do" people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun Required Education High School Diploma/GED Required Experience 6 years relevant experience Preferred Competencies/Skills * Track and analyze up-to-date legal regulations * Communicate information in a clear, well-organized, and professional manner * Think critically to resolve problems * Manage assigned projects * Professional, polished, poised and positive demeanor * Mentor others by providing guidance and encouragement * Collaborate with internal and external customers * Build and capitalize on beneficial inte nal and external relationships * Manage and prioritize competing responsibilities concurrently and effectively * Use logic to address work-related issues and problems * Adapt and be flexible in a complex, changing environment; work effectively under pressure * Prioritize various competing tasks according to their urgency Preferred Education Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience Preferred Experience Experience in insurance policy and compliance * experience training/mentoring others * increasing level of responsibility QBE Cultural DNA We can never really predict what's around the corner, but at QBE we're asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future by helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
