Overview
Position Summary:
The successful candidate for the SVP IT Infrastructure & Operations position will be an accomplished Technology executive with extensive experience and proven credentials as a top executive within a large organization. He/she/they must have extensive experience leading high-performance teams to optimize global technology, and business and financial transformations, as well as have expertise in developing and executing business strategies, and implementing path-breaking initiatives.This candidate will be responsible for driving a best-in-class internal and external customer experience by building a team capable of delivering the company’s strategic, financial, and operational goals in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the CIO and EVP of Information Technology, the SVP will lead an organization that fosters a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, innovation, and productivity. He/she/they will be asked to create a culture and an organization that collaborates with key business partners to ensure that we can deliver “best-in-class" systems that meet the business needs, aid the business in defining their technology road map, and provide a high level of systems stability. The SVP will have responsibility for all infrastructure and technology engineering & operations. The SVP must be business-focused and viewed as a valuable partner to the leadership team.
Creating a strategy to increase the efficiency and productivity of the Company’s IT organization, supporting applications and systems that deliver products meeting business needs on the first attempt.
Developing and overseeing strategies to maximize technology use for productivity and output improvement.
Ensuring associates use the Company’s technology efficiently and profitably.
Developing and implementing data protection and quality assurance processes.
Creating, monitoring, and assessing IT budgets.
Communicating technology strategies to stakeholders and employees.
Driving the design of new IT infrastructure, communication systems, and software.
Researching and staying aware of emerging and fading technology trends and platforms, incorporating this knowledge into the organization’s technological approach.
Developing strong partnerships with business partners for best-in-class infrastructure systems, keeping ahead of competition.
Creating a long-term strategic vision to support continued organizational growth.
Ensuring IT business alignment with broader organizational strategy and earning respect and trust for delivery capability.
Leading and developing a best-in-class team through coaching, recognition, best practice sharing, and mentorship.
Leveraging succession planning throughout the organization to improve talent depth and consistency.
Working closely with executive leadership teams for more efficient and effective business initiatives.
Partnering with key stakeholders to understand short and long-term opportunities for improving the impact and effectiveness of the Technology organization.
Driving operational excellence across the company for continuous improvement in system reliability, quality, and cost.
Assessing current operations to ensure existing technology is leveraged and identifying opportunities to enhance innovation and support future needs.
Digital Transformation: Leading initiatives to modernize digital infrastructure, improve customer experiences through technology, and drive digital innovation across the organization.
Cloud Strategy and Management: Developing and executing a cloud strategy that optimizes cloud resources, enhances scalability, and supports business objectives.
Vendor Management: Managing relationships with technology vendors, evaluating partnerships, and negotiating contracts to ensure the organization has access to cutting-edge technologies and services.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring technology operations comply with relevant regulations and standards, particularly in industries with strict regulatory requirements such as healthcare or finance.
Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Developing and implementing plans for IT disaster recovery and business continuity to minimize downtime and mitigate risks.
Emerging Technologies: Staying abreast of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, blockchain, and IoT, and assessing their potential impact on the organization's operations and strategy.
Education and Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree, MBA a plus
Experience : 10+ years of successful technology management experience in a high-volume retail organization, 5+ years in senior technology management role with full resource and P&L responsibility.
