The role of the Associate Director, Network Management is key to contract strategy and contract negotiations and growth achievement. This individual works across Optum Pharmacies to set the vision, strategy, and drive forward the execution of payer contract renewals while continuously evaluating financial risk and opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:
Growth Strategy -The Associate Director, Network Management is responsible for expanding and developing successful strategies for payer contracting across assigned existing payers, working to foster deeper partnerships with a focus on accelerating growth via payer access. Provide payer contracting consultative expertise to various provider groups across the country
Contract Administration -Owns contract negotiation and renewal activities for large to mid-size PBM accounts. This includes the review of payer applications and enrollment forms, all contract documents, approval process and financial modeling
Contract Performance and Profitability -Developing overall payor contracting strategies for business growth, maximum revenue while leveraging value proposition, therapy specific capabilities and LDD access. Establishes clients value proposition, contracting strategy, and execution of new agreements contract completion and re-negotiation rate increases
Contract Compliance -Maintain knowledge of contract compliance and participation requirements for all assigned payers
Pharmacy Operations -Serve as a payer contracting subject matter expert for all pharmacy footprint activities and pharmacy operations payer and contracting specific questions
Results & Metrics -Track, monitor and report out individual performance metrics and KPI as requested by leadership. Develop and maintain payer scorecards demonstrating year over year financial performance, relationship status, headwinds and tailwinds
Collaboration -Partner with senior and executive leadership on strategic planning, including identifying and developing strategic initiatives around growth through contracting. This role is uniquely positioned to partner with all functional areas including but not limited to, licensing, legal, operations, compliance, finance, marketing and product teams to support the business while ensuring existing business continues to meet overall requirements and performance

Required Qualifications:
3+ years of PBM Network-Health plan Contracting experience
3+ years of client/account management
2+ years of experience with rate structures and finance components, including but not limited to budget, reimbursement formulas and profit & loss statements
Intermediate level of Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Preferred Qualifications :
2+ years business development and/or sales
Program management and or process improvement experience
Value based contracting knowledge
Proven growth minded individual with the ability to articulate buyers needs and help translate to business opportunity

Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
