The Accounting Manager - Transformation Team will support acquisition transitions, process improvements, GL standardization and define best practices within the Optum Care National Accounting team. The role will partner with various stakeholders across the country and cross functionally to support a variety of initiatives in a growing part of the business.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Primary focus on process improvements through various projects requiring solid organization and communication skills

  • Perform work in a self-directed manner and work with less structured, more complex issues

  • Status reporting and ability to push on multiple initiatives in parrellel

  • Monitoring and enforcement of GL requirements through education in partnership with staff

  • Coach business partners on appropriate GL code usage at a bredth of leadership levels

  • Flexible in a growing environment driving projects to conclusion

  • Collaborating partner who can consider a variety or perspectives and influence change through compassion

  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis and investigate issues providing explanations and interpretations

  • Fill in where need as national or market resource for close needs

  • Serve as a resource and mentor to other staff

  • Develop innovative approaches for continued improvement in efficiency and effectiveness

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

  • 5+ years demonstrated progression in Accounting

  • Experience successfully managing multiple requests, assessing priorities and achieving solutions under deadlines

  • Intermediate level of working knowledge of GAAP; ability to effectively use accounting knowledge to collaborate with varying levels of employees and senior management

  • Intermediate level of proficiency with PowerPoint (Experience presenting)

  • Advanced level of proficiency with Excel (experience with large data sets)

  • Demonstrated advanced analytical and information gathering skills; ability to evaluate and prioritize extensive detailed data

  • Demonstrated ability to lead large scale project and effectively communicate findings and progress to management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA or equivalent licensure or certification

  • Public Accounting

  • Project Management experience

  • Healthcare experience

  • SQL/SAS

The salary range for this role is $89,800 to $176,700 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
