The Salvation Army Northwest Division Summer Dining Hall Maintenance Assistant in Eatonville, Washington

Description GENERAL DUTIES: Participate actively in daily meetings, Bible studies, activities etc. Attend and participate in evening programs and spiritual activities. Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters. Assist with the clean-up of the total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer. Prepare and deliver the Dining Room Host camp brief at the end of the summer. Assist with evening cabin supervision Participate when needed with the meal count for USDA at the start of each meal time. Be an effective part of the overall Kitchen/Dining Hall team to ensure the camper experience is optimal. Be an appropriate & effective example for both campers and staff members, exhibiting Christ-like conduct, concern, and service Report any suspected child abuse issues to the Assistant Camp Administrator and take necessary actions to report it properly Report general property maintenance issues to Facilities Manager or Maintenance Crew Chief Be present and participate in camp wide evening Programs Any other duties as assigned by the Dining Hall Lead Maintenance and Food Service Director. SPECIFIC DUTIES: Safety and Supervision Enforce camp policies and procedures Maintain the utmost level of safety for staff and campers at all times. Ensure compliance with American Camping Association standards of safety and programmatic conduct at all times. Coordinate and implement all program components relative to the daily schedule in a timely fashion. Weekly Responsibilities Show up on time and ready to work when scheduled. Assist in keeping the Coffee bar cleaned and stocked at all times. Maintain cleanliness in Dining Hall and Dining Hall Bathrooms. Empty all Dining Hall trash cans when needed - not waiting until they are too heavy to lift and move. Work with the DH Lead Maintenance to ensure tables and chairs are setup according to the daily and weekly need for cabin groups and overflow. Prepare the Dining Hall for each meal, maintain cleanliness during each meal and participate in cleanup after each meal. Assist when needed with meal counts and supervision in support of USDA guidelines. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis. Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and reach overhead. Ability to operate telephone. Ability to operate a desktop or laptop computer. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to access and produce information from a computer. Ability to understand written information. Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
