Cabinet Manufacturing Facility
Position Summary
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing all shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations within our cabinet manufacturing facility. This role ensures efficient material flow, accurate documentation, and timely delivery of finished products to customers while maintaining inventory accuracy and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Shipping & Receiving Operations
Coordinate daily shipping and receiving activities, including scheduling of inbound and outbound deliveries
Process and verify shipping documentation, bills of lading, and purchase orders
Maintain accurate records of all shipments and receipts using company software
Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently using proper equipment
Verify accuracy of incoming materials and outgoing cabinet orders
Report any discrepancies or damages immediately to appropriate personnel
Equipment Operation & Warehouse Management
Operate forklift and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently
Conduct daily equipment inspections and maintain operation logs
Organize warehouse space to optimize storage and workflow
Maintain clean and organized loading dock areas
Assist in physical inventory counts and cycle counts as needed
Documentation & Administrative Duties
Process Return Purchase Orders (RPOs) and manage return shipments
Generate and maintain accurate shipping logs and documentation
Input data into warehouse management system
Create and update shipping labels and packing lists
Maintain organized filing system for all shipping and receiving documents
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
2+ years experience in shipping/receiving in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in warehouse management software and Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in cabinet manufacturing or similar woodworking industry
Knowledge of DOT shipping regulations and requirements
Experience with inventory management systems
OSHA safety certification
Physical Requirements
Stand/walk for extended periods
Operate forklift and material handling equipment
Bend, stoop, reach, and climb regularly
Work in various environmental conditions (hot, cold, dusty)
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
Work Environment
Fast-paced manufacturing facility
Monday-Friday schedule with occasional overtime as needed
Climate-controlled warehouse environment with exposure to wood dust and manufacturing processes
Team-oriented atmosphere requiring collaboration with production, quality control, and sales departments
