Molding Technician, Off-Shift, Easton PA SIGN ON BONUS! GENERAL SUMMARY: Troubleshoots, repairs and monitors plastic molding equipment that may include injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming, alloyed machines, and / or auxiliary equipment and their process for most efficient operation. Trains and instructs molding technicians as required. PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitors plastic molding machines and auxiliary equipment performance to repair and troubleshoot problems. Makes necessary changes to ensure optimum process efficiency. Performs mold changeovers, set-up and document molding process parameters to meet required quality level at standard rate. Works with vendors when required. Plans and schedules preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. Performs all other job requirements and related duties as assigned. Complies with federal and state Hazardous Waste regulations including proper handling, storing, labeling, and familiarity with Crayola's Emergency Action Procedure in the event of a spill or leak. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: High school degree required (Associate's Degree in a Technical field or Technical Certification preferred) with a minimum 3 years of experience working with injection molding, electrical/electronics, hydraulic/pneumatics and mechanical machine subsystems; or successful completion of the Crayola Skilled Trades Mold Technician Apprenticeship Program. Must be able to solve differing, but related, problems of a unique technical nature. Ability to direct appropriate repairs to equipment and understand the nature of required repairs. Must have ability to read prints and schematics, order parts from prints and an understanding of the CAD System. Knowledge of the properties and processing requirements of common resins is essential.
