BLUEPOINT HOSPITALITY GROUP LLC Goat Farm Helper in Easton, Maryland
This position will work across all operations at the farm with a specialization in a goat herd. The primary focus will be on the health and well-being of the goat herd. This position will also assist with annual crops, tractor operation, and equipment maintenance.
Qualifications
2 years experience working with livestock (goats preferred)
Experience milking. Milking animals with adherence to food safety protocol
Weekend and holiday work is required
Ability to lift/move water buckets, hay bales, and other heavy objects - up to 75 pounds
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, year-round
Must be able to engage in physically active work every day
Ability to work independently and with other co-workers
Sound judgment and commitment to sustainable farm values
Bi-lingual (while not required, is very helpful)
Specific Job Functions
Animal Healthcare
Monitoring and logging general health of herd on a daily basis.
Assist with vaccinations and other medical procedures.
Assist with breeding, prenatal goat care, and kidding.
Hoof trimming and logging.
Identify sick animals and work with vet to develop a health plan.
Artificial insemination experience.
General Farm Support
Skid steer and tractor operation.
Assist with general field work.
Restocking/moving hay bales.
Experience with building maintenance.
Machine operations, repair, and maintenance of farm vehicles, implement and equipment.
