Talbot County Health Department Coordinator Special Programs - Health Services (II) in Easton, Maryland

The Child Development Coordinator is responsible for the implementation of the Talbot County Early Head Start/Family Support Centers developmentally appropriate early care and education program for infants and toddlers birth to age three. This position ensures that the program is operating in accordance with federal performance standards, childcare licensing regulations and meets the health and safety policies of the Talbot County Health Department. The Child Development Coordinator supports the mission of Talbot County Early Head Start and the Talbot County Health Department to nurture children, empower parents, and strengthen families by ensuring comprehensive, year-round early childhood and family development services to qualified families. The Child Development Coordinator supports teachers to be able to provide exceptional caregiving and physical, emotional and learning support to all children, including those with special needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience:One year of professional experience in assisting in the coordination of a health-related program(s) or referring people to governmental and private resources.

Notes:

  1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

  2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Health Care Administration classifications or Civil Affairs Specialist specialty codes in the health-related field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience and education.

DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: The desired candidate should possess the following: - Staff Credential level 4 or higher for Maryland Child Care Credential. - Knowledgeable of the Head Start Performances Standards.
