Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Easthampton, Massachusetts
Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. As an AP Specialist, you will be responsible for managing the accounts payable function of our company, including invoice processing, payments, and tracking expenses. You will also liaise with vendors and other departments to resolve any accounting discrepancies. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
Accurately process invoices, matching them with purchase orders and receipts.
Handle vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies in invoice/receipt records.
Manage the delivery of electronic payments timely and accurately.
Maintain an accurate aging report of accounts payables.
Reconcile AP transactions with monthly bank statements.
Maintain vendor files, ensuring they are accurate and up to date.
Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures and policies, including accounts payable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
Assist in month-end closing procedures.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.
Detailed knowledge of current accounting practices and principles.
Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
High level of accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Interpersonal skills for interacting with team members and upper management.
