CNY FAMILY CARE LLP RN in East Syracuse, New York

Summary: Diagnoses and treats human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case finding, health counseling, and provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well-being and executes medical regimens prescribed by a license physician or other licensed health care provider legally authorized under this title by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists with the day to day operations of the practice by rooming patients for office visits for all types of visits including but not limited to regular office visits, workers compensation visits, automobile injury visits, and research visits.

Collects accurate data such as history from patient, review of medications, review of systems and chief complaint.

Administers immunizations and gives injections using proper technique and properly documenting the administration of such medications.

Starts IVs under the direction of physician or mid level.

Triages patient calls and relays accurate information to the physician and the patient.

Performs tasks such as phlebotomy, electrocardiograms, assists with minor surgery, spirometry checks, urine testing, and measuring and recording of accurate vital signs.

Responsible for patient and family teaching as directed by the physician or mid-level provider in a precise and detailed manner. Performs annual wellness visits.

Assists the practice by accurately documenting procedure codes as well as diagnostic codes to facilitate a smooth process for billing.

Responsible for occasional evening or weekend work.

Responsible for any other duties under the direction of the charge nurse, team leader, director of nursing, or physician.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of database software.

Certificates and licenses:

CPR certification.

Education/Experience:

Associate's degree (AA or AS) or equivalent from two year college or technical school or a graduate of a certified medical assistant program, and some related experience and/or training preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
