CNY FAMILY CARE LLP Receptionist/Call Center Representative in East Syracuse, New York

Summary: Responsible for receiving incoming telephone calls in a prompt, courteous, and professional manner and greets/assists visitors in the same manner by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Acknowledges and greets patients as they approach the desk. 2. Reviews and updates all demographic/insurance information. 3. Collects co/pays and balances as needed and enters payment into patient account. 4. Balances drawer with super bill cash out report at the end of shift. 5. Answers telephone calls in a prompt and professional manner. 6. Routes calls appropriately taking accurate and complete phone messages when necessary. 7. Schedules, cancels, or reschedules appointments when necessary. 8. Responsible to recognize, label, and route the appropriate document to the correct provider and location within the Electronic Medical Record.

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, patients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer knowledge and knowledge of Medent. Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities: Time management skills Oral communication skills Written communication skills Professionalism Knowledge of medical terminology a plus
