American Express Company is an integrated global payments company that provides its customers with access to products, insights, and experiences. The Global Commercial Services (GCS) division offers a wide range of payment, expense management, consulting and business financing solutions to small businesses, mid-sized companies, and large corporations around the world.

The Supplier Payments International (SPI) Team is a central team in GCS with a mandate to further accelerate B2B revenue growth in prioritized international markets. The team is searching for a Senior Analyst to inform the next-level, data driven B2B payments growth strategies across the Small, Middle and Large customer segments.

This role presents a unique opportunity for a data savvy, consultative go-getter to develop high impact strategies, inform execution focus and empower stakeholders across markets with timely and actionable insights to unlock incremental growth opportunities in a key focus area of the business.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Support the strategy for growing B2B Card spend, optimizing KPIs and exceeding financial goals

  • Establish expertise in available data sources, their effective use, and quality control principles

  • Deliver data & insights to inform business focus, support prioritized ad-hoc analytical needs

  • Partner with business and data teams to execute projects and produce reports and insights

  • Penetrate data to distill key points and draw conclusion with data and business perspective

  • Support preparation of leadership updates including KPIs, initiatives and new opportunities

  • Troubleshoot data quality issues and work closely with relevant stakeholders to remediate

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in SQL (HIVE) and Python/Pyspark

  • Ability to summarize data for creating analytical views

  • Strong Excel experience; basic & advanced functions, pivots, calculated fields

  • Ability to work independently, troubleshoot data and create QA processes

  • Ability to penetrate data and distill key points; driven to develop and share new perspectives

  • Work independently; initiate, advance, and deliver initiatives balancing multiple priorities

  • Embrace an inclusive and diverse work environment, demonstrate a growth mindset

  • Demonstrated people skills, ability to collaborate with colleagues across functional teams

  • Familiar with infographics and visualization tools using software like Tableau/Power BI

  • Familiar with statistical data analysis, machine learning, data warehousing, ETL techniques a plus

  • Education: BA data science or relevant experience in finance, data analytics, strategy/consulting
