Sales Manager Opportunity
We are currently seeking a motivated and engaging Sales Manager with proven experience in hotel or resort sales to join our team at the East Peoria Embassy Suites. This critical role is focused on driving room revenue, proactively soliciting new business, and maximizing revenue from existing corporate and preferred accounts. The Sales Manager will play a key part in up-selling opportunities, meeting personal and team revenue targets, and ensuring seamless service delivery for our guests.
As the Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for building strong customer relationships and inspiring guest loyalty by consistently delivering service excellence. This role is ideal for a results-oriented professional with a track record of achieving sales goals, who thrives in a team environment, and is committed to learning and leading by example. Professionalism, creativity, and a dedication to problem-solving are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Generation & Sales Growth: Proactively solicit, negotiate, and secure both new and repeat business, ensuring that individual revenue goals are met or exceeded. Work diligently to identify potential customers, accounts, and markets that align with the hotel’s objectives.
Sales Process Management: Navigate the complete sales process, from qualifying leads and negotiating contracts to closing deals and coordinating event details. Maintain a consistent sales pipeline through diligent follow-up and customer engagement.
Event Coordination: Partner closely with clients to coordinate all aspects of their event, including space requirements, meeting schedules, equipment, menu selections, and billing. Work collaboratively with internal departments to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences.
Sales Contract Management: Prepare and execute sales contracts, event orders, and group resumes. Ensure all agreements are clearly communicated and that the terms are upheld for customer satisfaction.
Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain lasting relationships with clients through exceptional service, personalized attention, and a commitment to meeting their unique needs. Leverage these relationships to maximize sales and ensure repeat business.
Strategic Planning & Goal Setting: Create and execute a monthly SMART plan, documenting measurable goals and action plans to ensure consistent sales performance. Regularly review progress and adjust strategies as needed to achieve targets.
Sales Reporting & Tracking: Utilize a detailed file and trace system to organize and track all sales activities, ensuring that every call and client interaction is documented and followed up on in a timely manner.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the broader sales and marketing team, as well as other hotel departments, to align strategies and ensure the smooth delivery of services to clients. Share market insights and customer feedback to support continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
Required:
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Event Services, Banquets, Hotel Sales, Marketing, or a related field
High School diploma or equivalent
Proven ability to negotiate and close sales effectively while maintaining strong client relationships
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer
Occasional travel or off-site meetings may be required
Preferred:
2+ years of college education or equivalent experience in a sales and marketing or supervisory role
Experience with Delphi, FDC, Marriott CI/TY, or similar event management software
Knowledge of the hotel industry and its market trends

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
