About the role

As an Engineering Project Director you will lead all due diligence and design efforts in support of a highly visible and growing Electrical Vehicle Charger (EVC) programs across multiple Charge Point Operator (CPO) clients with projects installed across US, Canada and Mexico. The ideal candidate will have previous practical and leadership experience with pre-construction activities within an EVC program.

This job is part of the Project Management function. They are responsible for the management of projects from initiation through completion.

What You’ll Do

· Responsible for all pre-construction due diligence and design coordination for EVC installations across multiple clients in the Americas region. Typical scope of project will include Level 2 and Level 3 chargers, with some projects requiring utility upgrades and associated coordination.

· Manage and lead engineering teams as coach/player across the program geography while identifying, tracking performance, coaching, training, and motivating direct reports and the workgroup.

· Ensure expedited, efficient and effective due diligence/design delivery across all programs, including close and timely collaboration with clients, Site Hosts (where chargers are installed), A&E partners, Contractor partners, utility companies and local AHJs.

· Serve as a change agent for business improvements and develops support for new initiatives and processes. Leads efforts to constantly improve overall delivery of program scope across team.

· Build, communicate, and monitor the vision, mission, strategy, objectives, business plan, budget, policies, and operating plans for the assigned area.

· Interact with clients to set and meet goals and develop and implement action plans to correct variances.

· Direct all phases of pre-construction activities, including procurement/contracting of A&E scope, initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and effective collaboration/handover of projects to field implementation project team.

· Develop new business growth and maintain existing business relationships through established client relationships to create new business pursuits.

· Responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant contract procurement, contract negotiation, contract execution, and contract administration.

· Identify complex project risks, lead constructability reviews, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks for clients and CBRE.

· Participate in civic and business organizations to maintain relationships with industry and trade associates, vendors, and professional organizations.

· Oversee a mix of direct and matrix reports, approving recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action, and termination. Monitor staffing levels and lead and support staff in areas such as training, development, coaching, mentoring, performance appraisal, and retention.

· Apply a robust knowledge of multiple disciplines, the business, and key drivers that impact departmental and cross-functional performance

· Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Persuade managers and other colleagues to take action while being guided by the organization's functional business plans. Negotiate with external partners, vendors, and customers of divergent interests to reach a common goal.

· Identify and address multi-dimensional, complex, operational, and organizational problems leveraging the appropriate resources within or outside the department.

What you’ll need

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.Engineering degree strongly desired.

  • A minimum of eight (8) years of comprehensive experience in the real estate industry in the areas of financial analysis, project management, construction, ethical practices, business operations, marketing, and business development.

Equal Pay Disclaimer: CBRE Carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $150,000 USD annually and the maximum salary for this position is $170,000 USD annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental Insurance, Health Insurance, Life Insurance, and Vision Insurance.
