Position Summary

The HR Coordinator plays a pivotal role in the efficient functioning of the human resources unit within the Office of Health Sciences (OHS). As a critical liaison between the OHS Assistant Vice President for Human Resources and employees of the MAU’s that report to OHS, the HR Coordinator ensures seamless communication and supports various HR functions to foster a positive work environment. This position demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a deep commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all HR matters.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in human resources, a related social science field, or a field related to the operations of the department; six months to one year of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in a human resources function or an area related to departmental operations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in human resources.

  • Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and procedures.

  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP)
