Position Summary(Basic Job Function)
This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides technical support. Responsibilities may include computer programming or operations; research support; medical patient care; technical equipment maintenance, repair, fabrication or operation; or other technical support functions.
Unit Position Summary
Licensed veterinary technician position to cover open shifts in the VMC. Assisting veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures and treatments for our animal patients; working with veterinary and veterinary technician students with their work in a teaching environment.
Skills you will develop and utilize include central line placement, arterial catheters, urinary catheters, tracheostomy care, ventilator and dialysis patient care. With four Boarded Critical Care Specialized Veterinarians and two Emergency Critical Care Veterinary Technician Specialists, we support and assist in your career development.

Summary of Physical Demands
The veterinary technician will be lifting animal patients onto cagesand medical equipment; carrying animals between cages and exam tables and gurneys; pushing carts containing animals and equipment to other units; climbing stairs carrying lab samples; restraining animals; preparing for medical procedures and treatments.
