Position Summary(Basic Job Function)

This is a temporary or an on-call position. Provides professional support. Responsibilities may include general business, science, medical, agricultural or other professional support functions. Term: Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and at the end of the second term terminate for three (3) months or switch to an on-call. On-Call allowed to work 1039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Unit Position Summary

Michigan State Athletics seeks a dynamic and ambitious individual to join us as a full-time Live Production Intern with Spartan Vision for the 2024-25 season. This internship offers a unique opportunity to dive into the fast-paced realm of live sports production. As a member of the Spartan Vision team, you will play a crucial role in elevating our B1G+ and Videoboard shows. With over 225 shows produced annually, you will be at the forefront of leading productions and delivering captivating content. Through immersive, hands-on experiences, you will refine your skills in live operations. Our internship is crafted to provide practical, real-world exposure, empowering you to cultivate and showcase your talents and leadership abilities within a supportive environment.

COMPENSATION:Paid nine-month hourly contract (40 hours/week); in addition to office hours, this also includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Media food at certain events is also included. Relocation is not included.

STARTDATE:You will begin in early August.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree completion

  • Proven experience in live sports event production

  • Comprehensive understanding of cameras and signal flow

  • Proficiency in basic troubleshooting techniques

  • Preference for familiarity with control room equipment, specifically from Ross and Evertz

  • Exceptional communication skills and adeptness at multitasking

  • Able to patiently collaborate with and mentor students

  • Demonstrates sound judgment and discretion in handling sensitive information about student-athletes, university staff, and the Athletic Department.
