Michigan State University(MSU) Assistant Professor-Tenure System in East Lansing, Michigan

Position Summary

The Clinical Science Program of the Department of Psychology at Michigan State University (MSU) is seeking to recruit a faculty member for a tenure system appointment at the Assistant Professor level starting in Fall of 2024. The central mission of our dually accredited PCSAS and APA Clinical Science program is to generate and disseminate culturally responsive clinical science knowledge that will further the phenomenological and etiological understanding of mental health and inform prevention and treatment.  We aim to recruit an outstanding clinical scientist whose work enhances our coverage of clinical science and cultural responsivity and who can foster collaborations within the department, as well as more broadly in the College of Social Science, and/or other units on campus. The specific research focus is open. The ideal candidate will have established a strong program of visible research, a history of (or clear potential for) external funding, and a commitment to excellence in a) diversity, equity, and inclusion and b) undergraduate and graduate teaching.

Michigan State University actively promotes a dynamic research and learning environment in which individuals of differing perspectives and cultural backgrounds pursue academic goals with mutual respect and shared inquiry. The candidate recruited for this position would join an active, intellectually diverse, and productive department and Clinical Science Program. For example, the MSU Provost's 1855 Professorships and One Health initiative () includes a cluster of quantitatively oriented researchers who study sources of physical and mental health disparities and evaluate programs and policies intended to reduce them.
