The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:
Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with experience in initiating and leading human subjects research involving behavioral- and physiological measurements and human brain imaging related to human cognition and performance optimization for contributing to realizing a vision of intelligent systems collaborating with humans in the manufacturing, assembly, servicing, inspection, and repair of products, human-autonomy teaming, and robot learning.
What You Will Do
Aid in developing and executing a research agenda in areas of Human-Machine Interaction. Provide Human Machine Interaction subject matter expertise and collaborate with staff across disciplines to conceive and pursue research opportunities in new and exciting technical areas and domains.
Develop work-support solutions that build on principles of human perception, cognition, and decision making addressing our customer’s needs.
Build relationships to support partnership with leading, worldwide institutions (university, government agencies, national labs, and professional organizations) and meet organizational objectives. Study, model, and understand diverse customer needs in complex systems.
Lead and contribute to externally and internally sponsored programs, writing external and internal research proposals, technical reports, and research publications.
Qualifications You Must Have
10+ years of hands-on experience in domains related to human state assessment, performance optimization, physiological event detection, health and wellness, and medical diagnostics. Projects will range across multimodal physiological and neurophysiological sensor processing, and human brain imaging.
5+ years experience working with/designing Augmented and/or Virtual reality technologies and evaluating such technologies for use.
Experience working with DARPA, AFRL, ONR, ARL and/or IARPA or other related government organizations. Strong written and verbal skills, with prior experience in proposal writing, customer interaction, and presentation at technical conferences.
Preferred Experience
Proven record of capturing and leading research and development contracts or grants as a Principal Investigator, Technical Lead, Chief Engineer, or Program Manager.
Domain experience in areas related to autonomous systems, intelligence analysis or tactical aviation, intelligent autonomous systems for defense and aerospace applications.
Human subjects research program design, implementation, and completion.
Ability to pursue novel applications of technologies to address challenging real-world problems, including establishing new areas of research.
Knowledge of state-of-the art machine learning algorithms and autonomy systems.
U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

This role is also eligible for the Re-Empower Program. The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
