About the role

The CAD Designer designs and prepares electronic working plans, maps, and drawings for small to medium-scale projects for our aerospace clients R&D production facility in East Hartford, CT.

This job is part of the Design function responsible for preparing and producing proposals and planning applications for internal and external partners. Role requires to be onsite in East Hartford, CT up to 5 days/week.

What you’ll do

Prepare prints of various original plans and records for internal and external agency use. Review updated various as built drawings for changes, using computer-aided drafting techniques.

Gather data to complete drawings by walking the site directly. Conduct surveys of facility space and infrastructure and prepare detailed reports.

Assist with the development of maps and drawings that are spatially accurate and technically correct.

Point of contact for internal and external partners to obtain details of projects, including equipment, materials, and codes.

Collect on-site information and update database to maintain current building conditions and data.

Have some knowledge of standard principles with limited practical experience in applying them.

Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE (Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence) values. Work to build consensus and convince others to reach an agreement.

Work within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.

What you’ll need

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with up to 3 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Diploma in Architectural Technology or AutoCAD or equivalent preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Working knowledge of AutoCAD required. Revit experience is beneficial.

  • Ability to read and understand architectural drawings.

  • Experience with analyzing information and standard practices to make judgments.

  • Strong organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mentality.
