Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. Senior IT Applications Engineer in East Chicago, Indiana
Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Senior IT Applications Engineer position for the IT Plant Systems area located East Chicago, Indiana. The candidate would provide support for Indiana Harbor’s manufacturing Mainframe COBOL/DB2 applications and various OFS subsystems including Production Recording, Mechanical Test Management, Unit Scheduling, Roll Management Software and Electronic Data Interchange application files. Key functions include problem investigation, analysis, design, testing, problem solving, programming and malfunction support. They will need to get requirements, create functional & technical specifications, program, test, implement, and maintain applications. They must adhere to Cleveland-Cliffs programming and process standards.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Understands the business, the technologies, the manufacturing process, key people and business goals.
Aligns with the customers and establishes strong customer working relationships
Ensures timely and effective feedback for customer issues and requests
Follow IT Change Management process for implementation of changes in production environment Maintain necessary documentation to show compliance to the process
Be available for after-hours work when required
Drives innovation with the business
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Information Systems or equivalent work experience
2+ years of experience in CICS, COBOL, DB2, ADABAS/Natural, JCL/JES3, INCOM and OFS
2+ years of experience with custom development and SDLC processes
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 Apps (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, MS Access, Visio)
Working knowledge of RemedyForce service management software
Preferred Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in SAS, C#/VB/.NET, MS Win Servers, SSIS/SSRS, Power BI.
5+ years of experience with custom development and SDLC processes
5+ years of experience in Project Management; and demonstrated good leadership, communication, organizational and teamwork skills
Manufacturing knowledge and experience with the OFS Manufacturing Systems
