Global Helium. is seeking a Rare Gas Technician to join our team located in East Chicago, IN. The Helium Division distributes liquid and gaseous Helium for use in a variety of applications, including electronics, optical fibers, MRI/NMR, leak detection, and metal fabrication. Linde products, services, and technologies. Under routine supervision, the Rare Gas Technician will perform task that are moderately complex in nature. Typical duties include moderately complex set-up, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment to ensure a safe, efficient work environment. At this level incumbents are typically required to have developed detailed technical knowledge of one or two major tasks (or general knowledge of many tasks) which are a normal part of the specialty. A considerable amount of judgment is needed at this level to perform the job since instructions are mostly general, and incumbents require the ability to recognize and handle nonstandard occurrences and problems on a frequent basis. Exercises a significant amount of independent action, seeking advice from more senior technicians or engineers where deviations from the norm occur and where more creativity may be required. Responsibilities Develop the skills required to operate complex refinery under minimal supervision Understanding of process equipment (ie. Compressors, turbines, distillation columns) Perform all work duties in compliance with Linde's Policies Fill cylinders and cryogenic dewars per established procedures Deliver products in delivery trucks Operate in ISO quality environment Must be able to work alone and in a team environment Must be able to accept occasional off-site and overnight assignments. Elevated work up to 75 feet Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record - Basic computer skills; Microsoft Excel, Word, Email, Data entry, etc. - Ability to read process and instrumentation diagrams and schematic wiring diagrams - Perform domestic hazmat shipping documents. - Perform International hazmat shipping documents. - Perform and be trained on IATA shipping training and documentation Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Ability to work shifts, which include evenings, weekends, and holidays Ability to work safely around various types of rotating equipment Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships.
