Job Summary:
Transportation drivers provide safe, reliable transportation for health related appointments, for ambulatory and wheelchair riders.
Functions and Duties:
Performs a vehicle pre- and post- trip inspection report.
Obeys all traffic laws, driving in a safe and cautious manner at all times.
Coordinates work assignments via the tablet and dispatchers.
Ensure all riders are properly secured during transport, utilizing car seats, safety belts and locking wheelchair mounts.
Assists patients entering and exiting the vehicle and provides instructions for wayfinding.
Stays informed of changing weather and road conditions.
Keeps vehicle interior and exterior clean and orderly.
Operates lifts and ramps with proper safety restraints.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
Three years of driving experience or 1 year experience with CDL required.
No DWI or DUI convictions required.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
Requires a valid Illinois Class D, or Missouri Class E drivers license.
Class C CDL with passenger endorsements highly desirable.
Skills and Abilities
Must have a clear driving record.
Physical Demands:
Pulling/Pushing: Job requires exerting force up to 50 lbs. to move an object to or away from employee.
Grasping/Reaching: Job requires the employee to grasp/pick up items and reach for objects.
Sight: Job requires normal vision, with or without correction.
Hearing: Job requires normal hearing, with or without correction.
Speaking: Job requires involves speaking and talking.
Keyboarding: Job requires use of computer.

FLSA Statement:
This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Employees in non-exempt positions are entitled to receive overtime pay for any hours worked over 40 in a workweek in accordance with state and federal regulations.
