JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description This position will work through mid November. The Quality Control Technician performs testing and evaluations of construction materials such as: aggregates, hot mix asphalt, and concrete. Daily work is performed in laboratory and field environments. The Quality Control Technician reports and communicates the test results to the applicable personnel and enters information into a database. Reports directly to the Quality Control Manager. Duties and responsibilities Performs sampling, processing, and testing of construction materials. Tests are performed in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and other test methods and project specifications Read and understand specifications and applicable test methods Learns and becomes proficient in defined testing protocols for WISDOT Highway Technician Certification Program Responsible for proper use and care of lab instruments and equipment. Responsible for testing in a timely manner, meeting deadlines, and providing management with daily reports. Accurately report test findings and observations Qualifications High school diploma or GED equivalent required Construction experience preferred Ability to follow and implement standard lab protocols and written instructions Must have proficient math and reading skills and the ability to understand technical manuals.
