Kelly Services Engineering Project Assistant in Eagan, Minnesota

Kelly is looking for applicants for an Engineering Project Assistant role for a top client in Eagan, MN.

  • Pay: $24/hr - $27/hr depending on experience and/or education.

  • Assignment length: 12 months with potential of being hired permanent.

  • Shift/Hours: Day Shift / 8am – 5pm (flexibility allowed, but want some overlap with the majority of the team)

Summary:

The main function of the Project Assistant is to support engineering projects by adapting and applying engineering techniques, conducting tests and inspections, and preparing reports and calculations.

RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Complete test requests according to SOPs. Design test methods and build custom test equipment where SOPs don’t exist.

  • Record accurate test data. Interpret test data. Write reports and conclusions based on test data.

  • Hands on building of test carts that require mechanical, plumbing, wiring, and programming skills.

REQUIREMENTS:

Required Background:

  • Strong Writing and Communication Skills

  • Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel

  • Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.

  • Education: Associate’s degree in engineering technology or related field required.

  • Soft Skills Required: Negotiation with test stakeholders.

Preferred Background:

  • Data/Statistical Analysis (Excel, Minitab, or other)

  • Hands on Technical Skills (Plumbing, Wiring, Mechanical)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar

OTHER INFORMATION:

  • Will interact frequently with other team members, manager, and test request stakeholders.

  • First 30 days high level overview: Will be assigned some of our more standard tests where SOP’s exists while buddying along with other tenured folks in the lab to learn skills for more complex test requests later on in the role.

  • Dress Code: Business Casual/Casual. Jeans OK, Close Toed shoes required. no Hoodies/Novelty Tees, etc.
