Job Title: Heavy Industrial Machine Operator
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Industrial Machine Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine operation and the ability to read measurement tools and blueprints. This position requires setting up products on machinery, following detailed instructions, and ensuring product accuracy. The role involves working in a fast-paced, industrial environment and maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness.
Responsibilities
Operate heavy industrial machinery efficiently and safely.
Read and interpret tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
Set up products on machinery and follow step-by-step instructions.
Measure products to ensure accuracy and notify the manager or maintenance if tolerances are off.
Conduct minimal deburring of products.
Utilize a hand crane to move materials off the production line.
Meet minimal production output requirements.
Complete documentation of errors, measurements, and product completion.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Essential Skills
Heavy industrial machine operating experience.
Ability to read and interpret measurement tools such as micrometers and calipers.
Experience in machine operation or CNC operation.
Ability to read basic blueprints.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in steel fabrication or steel cutting.
Must have steel toe boots.

Work Environment
The facility currently employs 120 people and is expanding to add three total shifts. It is an older facility split into two separate buildings. The work environment is loud, dirty, and can be hot during warm weather and cold during winter months. Employees will work in specific departments with a supervisor and set team. The facility includes large areas of CNC machinery, welding booths, and racking systems. Efforts are being made to upgrade the facility.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dyer, Indiana.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.40 - $27.80
