Here’s the Gist:

The Non-Manufacturing EHS Sr. Manager leads Environment, Health, and Safety personnel and programs for Wolfspeed’s labs and other non-manufacturing operations and locations. This role sets strategic direction and leadership to cultivate a proactive EH&S safety culture, drive prioritization, alignment, implementation, & continuous improvement of EHS programs & processes.

The Day-to-Day:

  • Drive continuous improvement in the Wolfspeed “Protect the Pack” safety culture and long term strategy.
  • Works closely with Business Unit Leadership and Corporate EHS members to effectively support the EHS function and align with business unit objectives and priorities.
  • Directs technical EHS support to facilities for related EHS management issues through local EHS teams.
  • Develops team members with an emphasis on business acumen, in the field presence, problem identification, and solution-oriented approaches to EHS support.
  • Supports EHS aspects for planned expansions, facility modifications, and process changes.
  • Implements, certifies, and maintains Wolfspeed’s EHS Management System (ISO45001:2018 Occupational Health and Safety Management System & ISO14001:2015 Environmental Management System)
  • Works effectively with cross-functional business unit leadership and teams to meet EHS & Sustainability business objectives. 
  • Supports Wolfspeed Sustainability Program efforts and local site implementation to ensure a holistic approach to material ESG matters.
  • Drives enterprise alignment of EHS programs and processes with an emphasis on realizing efficiencies and effective implementations to support EHS compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Manages and maintains the site EHS Department annual operating budget and supports the capital budgeting process through risk analyses, ROI, and strategic direction.

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements)

  • Bachelor’s degree in an EHS, engineering, or science related discipline with 5-10+ years of direct EHS leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated technical competence across fundamental EHS program & system implementation.
  • Multi-site experience leading teams of EHS professionals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience integrating EHS into Testing and Failure Analysis Labs.
  • Knowledge of Lab and Office Ergonomics.
  • Track record of dealing with ambiguity and change while driving continuous improvement.
  • Ability to influence peers and senior management supporting program implementation.
  • Experience leading global teams and successful strategy execution
  • Management System experience such as ISO14001, ISO45001, and their practical application
  • Detail oriented with ability to maintain a macro view for high level strategy execution.
  • Capacity to handle confidential information.
