Description
Summary:
Project Engineer II is responsible for managing engineering budgets, schedules and coordinating engineering deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate design activities with both external parties and internal personnel to ensure accuracy and timeliness of information.
- Understand the terms of the Interconnection agreement, PPA and Prime Agreement as it impacts engineering activities and deliverables.
- Conduct weekly meetings with the engineering team assigned to a project.
- Support regular meetings with project teams and clients to ensure technical clarifications are provided and to communicate status of engineering activities.
- Interface with various vendors to meet technical requirements of the project.
- Develop and maintain engineering budgets that cover all design disciplines and that include both internal labor and subcontracted costs.
- Assist with the development of engineering scopes of work for use in administrating external design Request for Proposals (RFPs).
- Track engineering subcontractor invoices and internal labor hours throughout project.
- Manage file sharing of technical documentation for internal departments and subcontractors, including the production of design specifications, tracking of technical submittals, publication of construction drawings, and the collection of record and close-out documentation for a project.
- Manage field RFIs and ensure prompt response to all RFIs related to project design
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- BS in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university strongly preferred. Other STEM related degrees may be considered when coupled with relevant experience
- Minimum four (4) years relevant work experience
- Experience with the design of utility scale PV solar and BESS projects
- Strong time management and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills; comfortable presenting information to large groups
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in the office. Must be able to sit, stand, bend, twist and lift up to 20 pounds. May be exposed to weather elements when in the field. Limited out of town travel may be required, estimated at less than 10%
