Hiring Hourly Range: $19.37 - $20.55
Shifts: Vary with weekdays and weekends, 20-25 hours per week.
T he focus of this position will be Canine Recreation programs and events, and dog parks, This position will be responsible for planning and implementing these programs, partnering with local organizations, and community outreach. Responsibility will also include routinely monitoring dog parks for maintenance, safety, and public compliance with rules. Additional duties include coordinating mobile recreation programs (rotating outdoor programs intended to bring recreation to neighborhoods). Customer service duties will include responding to customer questions and complaints, processing refund requests, and assisting with program registrations.
Duties/Responsibilities
Organizes canine recreation programs and events by securing performers, event exhibitors and sponsors, and scheduling events.
Routinely monitors and inspects dog parks for maintenance, safety, security, and public compliance with rules and regulations, troubleshooting as needed.
Registers canines to use dog parks, ensuring that each canine meets the requirements established by the city, and assigns tags per registration procedures.
Provides customer service by responding to resident questions, concerns, and complaints pertaining to the dog parks and canine recreation programs.
Organizes mobile recreation programs by planning crafts and activities, and scheduling dates and locations.
Manages programs by submitting course information for entry into Active.Net recreation software system, tracking program attendance, collecting evaluations, and facilitating and/or supervising the facilitation of the program.
Completes registrations, collects fees and other financial transactions as assigned.
Assists at front desk when requested.
Maintains program materials and supplies inventory.
Determines the type of volunteer assignments needed and training needed for the positions.
Assists with marketing and advertising of events by creating marketing materials including blogs, flyers, and articles.
Distributes flyers and brochures, determines where to take marketing pieces to advertise events and programs.
Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service training programs, orientations, and evaluation sessions.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience
High School diploma (GED, HiSet,)
Two (2) years of experience in canine recreation or a related field.
A valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record.
Additional Preferred Skills
Comfortable working around dogs.
Available to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Experience coordinating a program or event.
